06 October 2014
The 2014 Christmas lottery will be launched at the Trading Standards Office in the Central Market at 11am this morning (Monday 6 October 2014). The draw date will be 18 December 2014.
The Channel Islands Lottery Christmas Draw will continue last year’s format: two-part tickets will be on sale, allowing for two entries into the main draw, with an attached scratch card offering prizes of up to £5,000. First prize will rise with ticket sales (last year, it reached £1,038,000) and will start at £300,000; the second-draw prize will be £50,000; the third-draw prize will be £25,000; and there will be 50 fourth-draw prizes of £5,000.
As in previous years, the total lottery sales, including all proceeds from the Christmas draw, will go to local good causes. Lottery proceeds for Jersey charities in 2013 amounted to £684,555, an increase of £282,853 on 2012.
